Getting Started

Download

Click on the download link on the home page to download the Poker software. When prompted for a download location, browse your hard drive to select a suitable location. You may want to download the software to your desktop for convenience.

Install

Ensure all other internet applications are closed before you install the Poker Room. Once the download is complete, locate the downloaded file on your computer and double click it. The installation wizard will take you through the installation process, follow the onscreen commands to complete the installation. Once completed you can launch the program from Start > Programs > Stan James Poker or by double clicking the Poker icon on your desktop (if you selected a shortcut icon to be saved on your desktop during the installation process).

Logging In

Follow these instructions to log in:

  1. Ensure you are connected to the Internet.
  2. Open the Poker Room software.
  3. Click the 'Login' button.
  4. If you have not registered at the Poker Room, the Online Registration Wizard is displayed. Follow the on-screen instructions. You are provided a User Name and Password to enter the Poker Room. For more information, see 'Registering at the Poker Room' below. If you are registered at the Poker Room, a dialog box is displayed requesting your User Name and Password. Enter the required information.
  5. Click the 'OK' button. The Game Lobby is displayed.
  6. Select a game to play.

Note: Click the Bank button to purchase credits.

Registering at the Poker Room

Once you have installed the Poker Room you must register an account before you can play.
To register an account:

  1. Click the Login button in the Game Lobby. The Online Registration Wizard is displayed
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions. You are provided a User Name and Password to enter the Poker Room.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to activate your account.

Playing the Games

If you need help with playing any of the games, click the Help button in the game.

Terms and Conditions

All games are played subject to the Poker Rooms standard Terms and Conditions. By connecting to the Poker Room, you agree with the Terms and Conditions listed in the Help files.

Bank

Purchasing Credits

Before you can play at the Poker Room you must purchase credits.
To purchase credits from the Poker Room:

  1. Click the Bank button. The Banking screen is displayed.
  2. Select a payment method and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: One credit in the software refers to one unit of the currency you have selected.

Cashing-In Credits
You can cash in your winnings at any time.
To cash in credits:

  1. Click the Bank button. The Banking screen is displayed.
  2. Select the Cash in option and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: You cannot cash in more credits than you have available. It is not necessary to cash in at the end of each session. Your account balance is automatically available to you the next time you log on to the Poker Room.

Security

Security is a priority to us. We have implemented mechanisms and precautions to ensure that you are fully protected against fraud and theft. Advanced encryption techniques ensure that it is impossible for a third party to gain access to any of your personal details. We log all Poker Room transactions and keep these as reference. The storage of these transactions is an indication of the Poker Room's integrity and can be used as evidence in the unlikely event of a dispute.

Important:
If you have either a Microsoft Windows 95 or 98 Operating System, Microsoft Directory Services is required to run the Multi-Player Poker software. If you do not have this software, Microsoft Directory Services is automatically installed when you download the Multi-Player Poker software.

System Settings

Edit Player Notes

To edit Player notes:

  1. Right-click the Player's corresponding Player Information box.
  2. Select Edit Player Notes. The Edit Player Note dialog box is displayed.
  3. Enter your Player notes in the field provided.
  4. Click the OK button. The information is saved.

Note: You must be in a game to edit Player notes.

View Player Notes

To view Player notes:

  1. Position your mouse pointer over the Player's corresponding Player Information box. The Player Notes box is displayed after four seconds.

Note: You must be in a game to view Player notes.

View Previous Hands

To view previous hands:

  1. Click the Menu button. The Main pop-up menu is displayed.
  2. Click PlayCheck. The PlayCheck website is displayed.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Turn the Sound On or Off

To change the Multi-Player Poker sound settings:

  1. Click the Menu button. The Main pop-up menu is displayed.
  2. Select Options. The Options sub-menu is displayed.
  3. Select Sound to turn the sound on or off.

Change the Hand Description Settings

To change the hand description settings:

  1. Click the Menu button. The Main pop-up menu is displayed.
  2. Select Options. The Options sub-menu is displayed.
  3. Select Poker Table Options. The Poker Table Options dialog box is displayed.
  4. Select the Hand Description checkbox.
  5. Click the OK button. The Hand Description feature is activated.

Change the Chat Window Size

To change the chat window size:

  1. Click the Menu button in a game. The Main pop-up menu is displayed.
  2. Select Options. The Options sub-menu is displayed.
  3. Select Poker Table Options. The Poker Table Options dialog box is displayed.
  4. Select the Small Chat window checkbox.
  5. Click the OK button. The Chat window is made smaller and is displayed in the Game Statistics area.

Note: To return the Chat window to its original size and position, complete the same process and deselect the Small Chat window checkbox.

Change the Screen Mode Settings

You can run the software as full screen, or according to your standard desktop resolution.

To change the screen mode settings:

  1. Click the Menu button. The Main pop-up menu is displayed.
  2. Select Options. The Options sub-menu is displayed.
  3. Select General Options. The General Options dialog box is displayed.
  4. Select a screen mode.
  5. Click the OK button. The screen mode is updated.

Change the Table Size

To change the Table Size for Hold'em games:

  1. Select a Hold'em table.
  2. Click the Menu button. The Menu pop-up is displayed.
  3. Select Change Table Size. The Change Table Size sub-menu is displayed.
  4. Select a table size.

Note: The option to change the Table Size is not available in Single Table mode or in DirectX screen mode.

Change the Show Borders Settings

To change the show borders settings:

  1. Click the Menu button. The Main pop-up menu is displayed.
  2. Select Options. The Options sub-menu is displayed.
  3. Select Poker Table Options. The Poker Table Options dialog box is displayed.
  4. Select the Show Borders checkbox.
  5. Click the OK button. The Show Borders feature is activated.

Change the Game Markers Settings

To change the game markers settings:

  1. Click the Menu button. The Main pop-up menu is displayed.
  2. Select Options. The Options sub-menu is displayed.
  3. Select Poker Table Options. The Poker Table Options dialog box is displayed.
  4. Select the Game Markers checkbox.
  5. Click the OK button. The Game Markers feature is activated.
