2:10 Wooditton Stakes (class 4)
A nice informative maiden to get us cracking on day two of the Craven meeting and last year 7 of these went on to be winners throughout the year. Godolpin send out Heart Of Lions and he definitely ticks a lot of boxes, bought for $100,000 at Keeneland could he be the Boys In Blue third winner of this race in a row? No is the answer as I think Hanagan’s mount Muntahaah will win. He’s out of a French Listed winner and holds a Derby Entry. I think at the prices he is more backable
Win- Muntahaah is 7/2 at StanJames.com
2.45 Novice Stakes (class 4)
Sutter County was very impressive on debut at Wolves when beating Stringbark Creek by 9 lengths and I think he will be difficult to beat here. Tomily and Makman have both since been beaten by the second that day over at Kempton but keep an eye on the market for newcomer Copper Knight who is bred for speed.
Win- Sutter County is 4/7 at StanJames.com
3:20 3YO Sprint (class 2)
Looks like a dual between Gifted Master and Waterloo Bridge, both dropping back in trip. Son of Kodiac means he should possess plenty of speed so the 6f shouldn’t be a problem. He’s also already beaten Waterloo Bridge by 4 ½ lengths back in October here.
Win- Gifted Master is 4/7 at StanJames.com
3:55 Handicap (Listed)
Another excellent renewal with some great 2yo form being showcased. IBN MALIK has been impressive even in defeat! He came up against 2000 Guineas hopeful Emotionless and Derby contender Galileo Gold and put in great performances on both occasions. Not forgetting he won at Newmarket on debut of course.
Win- Ibn Malik is 3/1 at StanJames.com
4:30 Earl Of Sefton Stakes (Group 3)
Air Pilot ran well enough when fifth in the Champion Stakes here but the nod goes to Custom Cut. He has a run under his belt after Donny nearly two weeks ago. He won a nice Group 2 in Leopardstown and has scored over the trip already. Jersey Stakes winner Dutch Connection should be there or thereabouts in the frame.
Win- Custom Cut is 8/1 at StanJames.com
5:05 Maiden (class 4)
Amazing Red is half brother to former stablemate Red Cadeaux (RIP) but probably won’t run with ground like this. Gosden has won this race 3 out of the last 8 runnings and saddles Satish this year. The main man Frankie is on board who enjoyed a treble at HQ yesterday. Daqeeq could prove the danger after third at Notts where the winner went on to contest the RP Trophy and he had a narrow miss at Wolves last time out.
Win- Satish is 13/8 at StanJames.com
5:40 Handicap (class 3)
Brando got off the mark impressively at Hamilton back in August then just finished just out the frame in a competitive handicap at Thirsk before going on to win at Haydock. He looks to be a progressive horse and the handicapper hasn’t been too harsh on him. Oh So Sassy is back after going close at Ascot and races off the same mark but most of his best form is on the all-weather.
Win- Brando is 9/4 at StanJames.com
