The draw for the Lincoln Handicap made today

Eton ForeverThe draw for the Lincoln Handicap was made today with favourite Eton Forever getting stall 7 for the big race at Doncaster. Last year both the Spring Mile and Lincoln winners raced from high draws close to the stands rail, but clerk of the course Jon Pullin does not expect that part of the track to be advantageous this year.

Roger Varian's charge is 11/2 with StanJames.com and the firm's Rory Jiwani says, "David O'Meara's Penitent was withdrawn this morning meaning Edinburgh Knight will now carry top weight out of the 22 declarations with Eton Forever just one pound lighter.

"The draw hasn't made much of an impact on the betting but one horse which has been backed is Mull Of Killough. Jane Chapple-Hyam's six-year-old was supported from 20/1 into 16/1 this morning and we had to cut him again to 14/1 when more money came after he was handed stall 21.

"Penitent's stablemate Smarty Socks has also been supported with the eight-year-old 16/1 from 20/1 after being given stall 22 for the season curtain-raiser."
