It’s day two of the Cambridgeshire meeting at Newmarket today and attention turns to the feature race of the day, the Shadwell Fillies’ Mile at 14:55, with Certify set to be the main performer here, priced at 10/11. Ollie Olga could also feature here, now at 3/1 after an original price of 11/4, but will have a task beating the solid favourite. John Gosden will be after success again today following a treble at Newmarket yesterday, with Winsili in the Group 1 Shadwell Fillies’ Mile now back to it’s original price of 7/1.
Sovereign Debt is a market mover in horse racing betting in another interesting race at Newmarket, the Group 2 event at 14:20, the Nayef Joel Stakes. The Jamie Spencer ridden three-year-old is now priced at 6/1 (from 13/2), with Joviality ridden by William Buick shortening a touch in this race to 5/1 (from 11/2).
The listed event at 16:00 is perhaps another race to watch out for today. Can Songcraft follow up a win at Salisbury last time with victory here? The four-year-old is priced at 9/2, with Frankie Dettori ridden Retrieve, Songcraft’s stable mate, now at 11/4 (from 5/2).
The handicap at 16:35 has multiple entries from several trainers. Brian Ellison runs four in this race including Pendragon at 16/1. He also runs the consistent Christmas Light who should feature well in this race and is now at 7/1 (from 8/1).
