Today’s racing comes from Southwell, Carlisle, Ludlow, Wolverhampton and Thurles, and there has been a fair amount of movement in horse racing betting this morning.
The 15:55 Handicap Chase at Carlisle has seen our strong 2/1 favourite Vamizi nibble from 9/4 and he looks to be a strong contender for the win here. He has won two chases previously but fell at the 15th on his latest outing in April. He will be ridden by Peter Buchanan and could do well here.
Nigel Twiston-Davies’ Power Pack Jack could also impress here, after winning three chases previously. He remains at his starting price of 7/2 and finished behind The Magic Bishop by three and a half lengths on his latest outing at this course, in which Power Pack Jack took third place. The Magic Bishop has traded steadily around the 4/1 mark and is also in for a chance here after winning at this course earlier in the month.
Mister Hyde is also one to watch in the 15:55 Carlisle Handicap Chase after winning three hurdle races and a chase, including his last outing in a hurdle race at Ffos Las. He has top weight here and is worth a look; currently back at his starting price of 9/2 (from 4/1) in horse racing betting.
The 15:15 Ludlow Novices Hurdle has been lively, and our 3/1 favourite is Henry Hook (from 7/2). He has won three hurdle races previously but stumbled and parted company with Harry Derham on his latest outing. Close behind him in horse racing betting is On The Bridge at 7/2, who is now back to his starting price. Son of 2001 St Leger Stakes winner Milan and ridden by Jeremy Scott, he was runner up in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter in his latest outing and has won three times this season.
The 17:20 Ludlow Handicap Hurdle has also seen a significant amount of movement. Ian Williams’ Stevie Thunder began the day at 9/4 and has now nibbled his way to 6/4 for the win. This will be his handicap debut and his stamina has been questioned slightly, but he has had a good flat race season despite not taking any wins. He took a second on his maiden hurdle race at Plumpton last month and could do well here.
Turbo Du Ranch is now at 9/2 (from 5/1) in the 17:20 Ludlow Handicap Hurdle and has won in flat racing previously. He is yet to win a hurdle race and his rider was unseated in his latest outing in a hurdle race in March, but he shouldn’t be written off. Split Ear is at 13/2 (from 7/1) and has won three hurdles previously. He came sixth of sixteen in his latest outing, which should not be sniffed at, and he could do well here.
