Week Seven | Rotterdam

It's getting tight at the top as we approach the time of year when one good win or bad loss can catapalt you to the promised land of the play-offs, or down into the depths of relegation.

So, who's about to sink or swim at the Ahoy Arena? We preview the matches, below:

Wade v Klaasen | 19:15  Wade 11/10 Tie 100/30  Klaasen 7/4

'The Machine' kicks off proceedings against the unpredictable, chaotic Dutchman, Klaasen, who will be further buoyed by performing in front of a home crowd. The first of three Dutchmen hoping the home support will sweep him to victory. However, given the erratic nature of his play, Jelle can wobble occaasionally, as witnessed last week against Barney, and given his precarious position on the leaderboard, he'll be hoping for a strong start.

James can seem to blank out the crowd and settle into his own zone, and this ability coupled with his recent form should see him through in the evening's curtain-raiser.

MATCH BET:  Wade to win: 11/10

Wright v Chisnell | 20:00 Wright 8/13  Tie 4/1  Chisnall 3/1

Peter Wright's record-breaking start to the year had to slow down at some point, and that it did last week when beating James Wade 7-5, despite leading 5-1 at one stage. Snakebite had an average of 95.42 last time out. That said, he was at home and perhaps that, coupled with the fact that the emotions of his winning his first televised title ater 22 years may have gotten to him.

Chizzy, after a terrible start was forced to play two games in a session when MVG was out due to injury, and won them both. He then stumbled against Anderson last week, in terrible shape 6-0 down, until he rallied a little, eventually losing 7-3.

MATCH BET: More of the same: Wright to win 7-2/3: 11/2 / 6/1

van Barneveld v Anderson | 20:45  Barney 11/4  Tie 4/1  Anderson 4/6

Barney's been scrapping since the start of this year's Premier League, with many of his matches going the distance, and last week was a prime example of this. He had a couple of ton+ finishes, including a rather supreme 154. This slightly hides a poor checkout percentage of 32%, which is the lowest of the lot. Anderson, on the other hand, despite having six putts at dismissing Chizzy 7-0 last week, is in fine form, confirming his position as the world's number two.

Gary knows what it's like to play in front of a home crowd, such was the support last week and he knows he walks into the lion's den tonight. That partisan support may just give Barney the edge to make a real fight of this one, which could be closer than people might expect.

MATCH BET: Draw 6-6: 4/1 Most 180s: Barney 13/8

Huybrechts v Lewis | 21:30  Huybrechts 2/1 Tie 7/2  Lewis 10/11

They say that if it doesn't kill you it makes you stronger, and Kim Huybrechts will certainly agree with that as he'll no doubt come back stronger after a season he'll want to forget. Yet to notch a win, he has shown plenty of grit, with three draws in teh six matches thus far and he took MVG to the wire last time out.

Lewis will no doubt have enormous sympathy for him, having experienced a similar dip in form and confidence before managing showing glimpses of the old jackpot when drawing with MVG. He followed that up with a capitulation against Wright before turning off The Power 7-4 last time out.

Like the game above this could go all the way, but Jackpot's edge in experience and finishing (his checkout % of 41.33 the best in the league) should see Lewis home.

MATCH BET: Lewis 7-5: 9/2  Lewis highest Checkout 8/13

Taylor v van Gerwen | 22:15  Taylor 9/2  Tie 9/2  MVG 2/5

These were the matches that Taylor used to thrive in and in his swansong year, expect him to thrive one last time. The G.O.A.T against the World's Number one is the last game of the night and a fitting finale to the evening's entertainment.

Despite strong starts, both have not been at the imperious best and MVGs injury, especially, seems to have knocked his stride a little. His return saw him average 106.30 mind, and it should be remembered that MVGs average is beyond most player's grasp!

Both will be champing at the bit to win this one, but we're taking honours even...

MATCH BETS: Draw 6-6 : 9/2

StanJames featured treble a £10 bet on Taylor/MVG draw, Lewis 7-5 and Wright to win 7-3 returns: £2,117.50*
