It's time to GO AGAIN! The Premier League Darts returns and we're off to Leeds to join the gang at the oche.
With two decent weeks under our belts, can we find a couple of decent finishes this time round? Check out our weekly Premier League of Darts Preview to find out!
Premier League Darts | SS2, 19:00
Week Three | Leeds
Five players remain unbeaten, but none of the tungsten titans have maximum points to their name following the opening two fixtures in Newcastle and Nottingham; the darts gets more and more exciting as we head to Leeds for week three!
With so many mouth-watering match-ups to preview, let's cut the waffle and get to the chase!
Anderson v Wright | 19:15 Anderson 8/13 Tie 15/4 Wright 3/1
Two of the more popular players on the circuit, this all-Scottish clash promises to set the stage with no love lost between the pair as they go head-to-head once more.
Anderson (our pre-tournament tip for the title) has backed our confidence with consistent displays of high-level performances, includings Friday's final in Wigan. Snakebite (the world number 3) has been a little more up and down recently, winning the UK Open Qualifier title during the week, but being hammered by MvG in the Premier League.
You'd think the Wright has more to show here, the TV lights seemingly affecting his game. Anderson relishes the big stage and the spotlight doesn't seem to phase him.
Lewis v Wade | 20:00 Lewis 6/5 Tie 100/30 Wade 6/4
We're not quite sure why Wade isn't the favourite here, given Jackpot's stuttering start to the year. Lewis started by losing to van Barneveld in week one, but hit payloa when he beat Chisnall 7-2 last week. To be fair, Wade hasn't beaten Lewis in their last three Premier League encounters, which may be a reason for the confidence, but Lewis looked ragged against Chisnell and against a player who scores as highly and consistenty as The Machine, he really could be in trouble. Wade looked threatening in the draw against Taylor last week and reached a final in the UK Open midweek, beating Anderson in the process. Keep that up and he should prove too strong here.
MATCH BET: Wade win: 6/4
Taylor v van Barneveld | 20:45 Taylor 11/10 Tie 100/30 van Barenveld 13/8
Surely the tie of the week as these two absolute legends of the oche go head-to-head once again. For the geeks and stattos out there, this will be the 78th time they've met, with Taylor the victor on 56 occasions. However, as any betting man will tell you, there are lies, damn lies and statistics, and it is worth noting that the dominance The Power once had over Barney seems to be on the wane a little now, with the scores level at 5-5 over their last ten matches.
Neither player have been beaten thus far, so something has to give. and if Barney can start well he could have the beating of Phil. Expect both to be right at it, with high checkouts and scoring throughout. Barney has had to go the distance in both his games and his stamina seems unaffected. Consequently, he's thrown 11 maximums so far.. three more than anyone else...
van Gerwen v Klaasen | 21:30 MVG 1/8 Tie 9/1 Klaasen 10/1
Michael van Gerwen is a pain these days. To his fellow competitors and to us trying to make a few shillings from his brilliance. MvG has won the last eight games against Klaasen, including a 10-3 battering at the Euro Championships back in October. It's widely known that the two Dutchmen do not see eye to eye and The Cobra, as Klaasen is known, will probably look to strike quick and early. That could be the key here as the sprint format of the Premier League can get to Mike sometimes. Whilst an early score or two might not be enough to win, it does make the handicap market a little more attractive...
That said, MVG was jaw-droppingly brilliant at the UK Open Qualifier, with TWO nine-darters in ONE match on his way to winning the tournament. He also notched up a 170 checkout against Wright last week, which shows the form he's in!
Chisnall v Huybrechts | 22:15 Chisnall 6/5 Tie 100/30 Huybrechts 6/4
The night ends with the basement battle between the relegation-haunted pair. Chisnall, with just five legs to his name thus far, will be looking to use Kim as a springboard to move away from the bottom of the pile. Huybrechts was relegated fron the Premier League on his debut in 2015 secured a point against Barney last week; couple that with his performance against Wade and he MUST take some confidence from that game into tonight's match.
Kim for the win is our thinking, but everyone knows that Chizzy can bang the 180s in. Huybrechts doesn't score quite as many, but he's had twenty-five 140s in his two matches thus far... if a few of those creep the other side...
