We had the magic of the FA Cup at the weekend, and more cup action makes a return to our TV screens on firstly Tuesday and then Wednesday evenings at the first-leg  semi-finals of the EFL Cup take place in the north-west and then south-west this midweek.

The FA Cup is back in business for the Premier League and Championship sides entering the competition for the first time this season. The third round is here, and as we see every year, there are always upsets – or cupsets as they seem to be called nowadays.

After a day of nothingness, football makes a welcome return to our screens on Friday night, and it’s the FA Cup of course, where dreams are made and shattered! Knockout football at it’s finest over the weekend (yes, we know there will be replays) and it all begins as Manchester City make the trip south to the capital to take on West Ham in Pep Guardiola’s maiden clash in the competition.

The fun continues tonight and tomorrow, with three matches this evening and the big one tomorrow - Tottenham Hotspur vs. Chelsea. You know, that one where Eden Hazard scored to stop Tottenham from potentially winning the leag... oh, forget it, you know what we're on about. You're not bored of all this festive football? Are you? No, of course you're not...

The blasted Premier League have us working overtime with these fixtures, but we love football, you love football, everyone loves football.

Okay, we’ll start off by admitting there’s not too much interest in this one. It’s not a great derby and these clashes normally flatter to deceive. Not. The fun all starts at 12.15pm and it's LIVE!... on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 5, just in case you have one but not the other. That's when you know this one's a big'un.

Southampton v Tottenham | Match Preview and Betting Tips

Southampton host Tottenham tonight with the Londoners hoping to take their impressive home form on the road. The Saints, who haven't conceded in over 3 and a half hours at home, will have other ideas.

StanJames' Premier League Predictor Competition | Week 19

Stuffed by the Christmas dinner, stuffed by you lot, who se

You've all looked and agreed with everything we wrote in our Christmas Wishlists Part 1 piece earlier in the week, which is exactly why you're back for more, right? Either that, or you've been itching to see where David Moyes' going to strengthen in January as - like Moyesy - you're not sure what he needs either.

After our extremely average predictions last time out, we're back for more!

Christmas is coming. It’s such a great time of year, unless you’re one of those poor, undervalued and under paid footballers who have to train on Christmas Day and then entertain everyone by playing on Boxing Day. You have to feel for them. As well as them, it’s an awful time for the bosses as well, who are analysing what they need with the January sales round the corner.

Millwall v Charlton | Match Preview and Betting Tips

Millwall host Charlton tomorrow in a south London tear-up at the New Den.  As derbies go, this may not have the allure of #MerseyMonday, or the intensity of Tottenham v Arsenal, but make no mistake; for passion, honour and local bragging rights this is up there with the best in the world. Forget Munich, Manchester and Milan, as Del Boy might have said: 'Sarf Lahdon's where's it's at!"

Nicky Henderson | Thoughts on the Weekend

Another busy Saturday with runners representing @sevenbarrows at Ascot and Haydock and I'd like to think there are a few winners among them. Thoughts on their chances are below - good luck everyone!

What lucky swines you lot are this week – and even more so if you’re a Tottenham supporter. We’re onto the third matchweek of the, er, week, Arsenal’s season has ended completely after drawing Bayern in the Champions League and then getting beat by Everton. Anyway, enough of Spurs and mocking Arsenal, here are our predictions for Saturday.

Your latest #ContinentalBreakfast takes us across Europe to the fine cities of Amsterdam, Turin, Monaco, Barcelona and Lisbon as we bite into five of the major matches this weekend, with derbies galore and a host of games that will have an impact at the top of the tables. Ready? Let's tuck in.

StanJames' Premier League Predictor Competition | Week 16

After our absolute spanking at the weekend (we got a total of ZERO points, yep - a big fat nada!) we're back for more!

It’s a big week of Premier League action for all sides in the English top flight. Following the weekend’s matches, those poor old footballers now need to play again on Tuesday/Wednesday now. What a shambles. They must be given a pay rise to deal with situations like this.

Five countries, five games, three days, one Continental Breakfast.

It's the weekend, which can only mean one thing - the return of the Premier League and the Premier League Pred

Four games, four different countries and with all to play for. Dead rubbers? Not in this preview. Battles for the top two take place tonight, with Southampton looking to simply not concede and Dundalk looking to take the points in Israel, before relying on Dutch delight from some Russians. Only in the Europa League, eh?
