RB LEIPZIG VS. BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH

A clash in Germany is first up with Leipzig hosting Borussia Monchengladbach for a big clash in the Bundesliga. Gladbach have lost a few decent players in recent years with the likes of Granit Xhaka and last summer Mahmoud Dahoud moving on but they should be doing better than their current tenth place position, even after just three games.

Leipzig went pretty close to really upsetting the odds in the Bundesliga last season before running out of steam and although they have flogged Oliver Burke to West Brom, have managed to hang on to star duo Naby Keita – for this season anyway – and Emil Forsberg as they look to push the likes of Bayern Munich and current table-toppers Borussia Dortmund all the way this time around.

This will only be the third meeting between the pair with Leipzig beating and drawing the previous two. Incidentally, the last two games have both been 1-0 to Leipzig at half time. A third half time 1-0 advantage for the hosts this time is a decent looking 12/5 if lightning strikes for a third consecutive time.

REAL SOCIEDAD VS. REAL MADRID

The highfliers are in action this weekend but it’s not Real Madrid. Now there’s a sentence you won’t read every week. It’s been the perfect start for Real Sociedad, with the Basque side joining Barcelona in having a 100% record in La Liga after three games, with visitors Real Madrid four points off them down in seventh place.

Whilst it’s been a disappointing start for Real domestically – for their high standards – they will have been boosted with their Champions League win against APOEL in midweek and Isco’s future being resolved with the signing of a five-year contract with the Spanish giants. Zizou’s side will feel that their time outside the top three of four won’t last too much longer and with five wins from the last five meetings, the French coach will fancy his chances against Sociedad.

Despite the hosts’ fine start to the campaign, we’re behind a 0-3 win for the club from the capital – this has been the scoreline in the last two clashes – and the price for this result is a tasty 10/1.

PARIS SG VS. LYON

Another big clash on the horizon is over in France as Paris SG take on Lyon armed with their attacking trio of Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe, who all scored in the midweek win against Celtic. There hasn’t been a draw in the last eight clashes between these two sides, with the club from the capital winning seven of those meetings. They have also led at half time in the last three games between these two.

Both clubs find themselves in the top three in the early stages of the campaign, with Paris the only team in France with a 100% record in Ligue 1 so far and are already three points clear of last season’s champions Monaco. Lyon haven’t found goals too hard to come by despite the sale of Alexandre Lacazette to Arsenal and will make it difficult for the hosts, but we’re going with a comfortable home 3-0 win at 6s.

PSV EINDHOVEN VS. FEYENOORD

We’re going Dutch for our final slice of Continental Breakfast this week as two of the big guns meet in Eindhoven. Last year’s champions Feyenoord are the visitors and hold a 100% record in the league this term having won all four of their Eredivisie games so far and hosts PSV will hope to get back on track following a surprising 0-2 defeat against Heerenveen last time out.

But their recent record against the champions isn’t great; they lost both matches against the same opponents last term and a defeat to Feyenoord once again will leave them six points behind their rivals, which could well be catastrophic, even at this early stage of the campaign.

A Feyenoord win and BTTS at 5/1 could well be a bet to celebrate – that’s what we’re backing, anyway.
