The Manchester derby is always a clash that gets people excited. A few years ago this bout would have been a head to head with implications for the Premier League title, but this season it’s instead a race to get into the top four. These two and Liverpool will fight it out, and one of them will likely miss out.

To add fuel to the fire, the Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho rivalry resumes on Thursday evening at the Etihad Stadium. The two have had a frosty ‘friendship’ since their paths crossed during their time working at Barcelona a number of years ago and since then – with Pep in charge of Barca and Mourinho tackling his old adversary during his time in charge of Inter Milan and Real Madrid – the rivalry has become more intense. The pair did however, share an embrace in the league and cup meetings earlier in the season.

United have injury problems – and you’ll certainly hear that excuse from Jose should they come away with nothing to show for their efforts on Thursday. Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are out long term with anterior cruciate ligament problems – Zlatan looks likely that he’ll never play for the Red Devils again.

But City have issues themselves, with Sergio Aguero, Fernandinho and David Silva all limping out of the weekend’s semi-final defeat to Arsenal at Wembley, with the trio all doubtful to make the derby match.

There has been only one draw in the last 16 meetings between these two, and as we’ve all seen this season, Jose Mourinho and United haven’t lost too many games – does this stat prove to an away win for Jose’s boys across the city?

Three of the last five meetings at the Etihad have finished 1-0. It was United who came off on top in this exact fixture last term – you may remember Marcus Rashford roasting Martin Demichelis at around this time last season.

What We Sayin’?

The aforementioned Rashford is likely to be up top in place of the injured Zlatan, and with a shaky Man City defence to contend with, we’re behind the England youngster to score first in a narrow 1-2 away win for his side at 60/1.
