Rightyo folks, the season's really starting to hot up now!

This midweek we will start off our Football League Hotpicks by sifting through the games remaining in the Football League in both Leagues One and Two and picking out some of the better options for those of you whose knowledge of the two lower divisions of the pyramid isn’t perhaps up to scratch.

This week sees us pluck out five home bankers – three in League One and two further in League Two.

Huddersfield Town head across the Pennines to take on moneybags Manchester City, probably knowing their best chance of causing an upset against Pep Guardiola’s side came and went at the John Smith’s Stadium a week or two ago, prior to the original game going to a replay after a 0-0 draw.

Three huge Championship games to come this midweek, and it's got to the time now where every point counts. There's a lot riding on our trio of clashes on Tuesday evening, none more so than the battle of the top two in Sussex. We've got play-off chasing Derby tackling Blackburn, whilst two sides struggling for form in Aston Villa and Bristol City meet at Villa Park.

This time last year everyone was behind Leicester City in their quest to win the Premier League. What a difference a year makes then for the Foxes, both on and off the pitch. The first trophy of the season is up for grabs on Sunday as Manchester United and Southampton tackle each other at Wembley for the EFL Cup Final in London, and both sides have pieces of fairly recent history at the national stadium There's a lot riding on this for both bosses as Mourinho loves silverware and Claude Puel still has to win over 100% of the Southampton fanbase...

The #ContinentalBreakfast makes a welcome return to your screens and it's fair to say this week's clashes are a bit more intriguing than last week's trio of clashes we picked out across Europe. We've two hotly contested derby games to come as Real Betis and Sevilla clash in Spain, whilst in France it's time for Le Classique, with Marseille looking to put an end to six years of hurt.

Blimey, don't these weeks fly by - unless you're an Arsenal fan!

The second consecutive week of Champions League fixtures concludes on Wednesday evening and there are a couple of crackers to get your teeth into. Two of the all-time goalkeeping greats meet in Portugal, whilst there is English interest in the other game on the evening as Leicester head to Sevilla, looking to forget about their Premier League troubles – for one night only, anyway.

The second batch of Champions League fixtures returns to our screens this midweek and we’ve previewed two key fixtures for Tuesday night below. German, Spanish, English and French league sides are all in action. Questions are being asked; can City go further in the competition this time around, are Atletico going to get to the Final again? To perhaps answer these, read on!

Two of the three relegated teams from the Premier League last season meet this evening at St James’ Park, but both sides’ goals and aspirations this term couldn’t have been any different.

It’s Saturday morning, there’s a feast of European football to look forward to and you’re feeling hungover. Well, fortunately for those who that applies to, we have the perfect tonic! The #ContinentalBreakfast makes a return to the screen  you’re looking at and this week we’ve trips to Spain, Italy and Germany all thrown in! All aboard!...

The FA Cup makes a welcome return to our screens this weekend! It's last 16 time, and, with every round of FA Cup clashes, a bit of magic is sprinkled at one or two places and an upset does happen! There've been plenty of high profile cases in previous years and already this season there have been a few which have raised eyebrows, too.

Blimey, don't these weeks fly by - unless you're an Arsenal fan!

‘Steve McClaren’s turned things round for the better’ isn’t normally something you’d either hear or read too often, however, that’s proved to be the case since the ex-England boss returned to Derby County in October following former Leicester boss Nigel Pearson’s dismissal.

The EFL returns this midweek, and with games in the Championship, League One and League Two taking place, we felt it’s only right to cover all bases and preview every single game due to be played on Tuesday night in the whole of the Football League! The things we do for you lot, eh?
