Travelers Championship Preview

GolfThe PGA Tour returns to TPC River Highlands on Thursday as the Travelers Championship gets underway. Webb Simpson is riding on the crest of a wave at the minute after his brilliant win at the US Open and will come into this event full of confidence, however whether that mentally and physically draining weekend will take its toll is yet to be seen (Webb Simpson 14/1 to win). Reigning Players' Champion Matt Kuchar is currently favourite (Matt Kuchar 13/1 to win), although he doesn't have the greatest of records here  having only played once in the last five years and finishing in a tie for 52nd. Hunter Mahan has to be fancied to go well this week  with three top 5 finishes here in the last five years, including a victory in 2007 (Hunter Mahan 15/1 to win).

Irish hopes will be lifted by Padraig Harrington's return to form at the US Open where he finished in a tie for 4th (Padraig Harrington 20/1 to win). He now has three top 15 finishes in his last four starts and will be hoping he can fine tune his game for the upcoming Open Championships starting next month. If you're looking for value slightly lower down the odds look no further than John Huh who is enjoying a remarkable year on his rookie season on the PGA Tour (John Huh 45/1 to win), with four top 10s and another four top 25s, including a victory at the Mayakoba Classic. He should have the game to go round well this week.
