Hope for Royal Respite

Rory JiwaniThe bookies took a kicking from England and Wayne Rooney last night at Euro 2012 and will be hoping to recoup some of their losses on Day Two of Royal Ascot. The firm's Rory Jiwani says, "We've had two horrible nights at Euro 2012 with Spain's late winner against Croatia costing us an absolute shedload and England and Wayne Rooney not far behind. We were slightly down at Royal Ascot yesterday but we're hoping for better today.

"Not too many early gambles today although I'm sure we'll see some big money later for the Royal Hunt Cup. We're top price every runner in the race and Dimension has been supported in from 10/1 to 8/1 favourite. Captain Bertie is 12/1 and it's 14/1 bar.

"In the Prince of Wales' Stakes, we were top price So You Think from 11 until 12 and he was very popular at 6/5. The former Aussie star is now even money. He's the worst result in the book but not a massive loser as we've also seen decent money for Carlton House and Farhh.

"In the Windsor Forest at 3.05, we're seeing plenty of money for Chachamaidee with Sir Henry Cecil's filly 4/1 from 9/2. In the Queen Mary Stakes at 5.00, we've seen support for Satsuma with David Brown's filly 14/1 from 22/1. Mick Channon's Jillnextdoor was well backed last night as she was beaten a head last time out by Hototo who won yesterday's finale, the Windsor Castle. She was 10/1 from 20/1 but is now out to 12/1.

"And in the Sandringham Handicap, Pricewise pick Duntle was well supported from 6/1 into 4/1 last night but David Wachman's inmate now heads the market at 9/2 in a typically competitive finale."
