Ascot RacecourseThere are some exciting races on today, coming from Ascot, Lingfield, Wolverhampton and Dundalk, and it has been a lively morning in our horse racing betting.

Puffin Billy seems to be the one to watch in the 13:55 Ascot Novices Hurdle, as he is currently our hot 8/15 favourite. Oliver Sherwood’s four year old will be after his hat-trick since winning at Newbury and Wincanton this season, impressively from only three starts. He should be a cut above the rest and is certainly worth a look.

Meganisi could be Puffin Billy’s biggest threat however, having won in quicker time at Newbury in his latest outing. Meganisi will also be after a hat-trick here as he has also won at Wincanton this season, and he can currently be backed at 3/1 (from 10/3). Up To Something is at 13/2 (from 6/1) with Bathcounty at 40/1 (from 22/1) and it should be an exciting race.

The 15:40 Ascot Flat Race has also been lively, with Captain Cutter nibbling from 3/1 to 7/2. The son of Westerner and half brother to Yes Daddy is making his debut here and a lot is expected of him. Nicky Henderson’s horse is the only newcomer and has been thrown in the deep end, but he could well be good enough.

Tiqris could also do well however as he was beaten by less than two lengths is his racing debut at Chepstow in April, and it will be interesting to see how he does racing for a new stable here. He is currently at 7/2 (from 9/2) but our favourite for the 15:40 Ascto Flat Race is Kings Palace, currently at 10/11 (from EVS) in our horse racing betting. He took a hugely impressive win at Plumpton earlier in the month, winning by a massive 18 lengths, and he has also won two chases previously.

It has also been a lively morning in Lingfield, with the 12:25 Maiden Stakes seeing a fair few price movers. This could be a tight race as there was not much between three of the horses over this course and distance earlier in the month. Give Me High Five took second, beating Special Meaning by only ¾ of a length and Easy Life was not far behind in fourth, so it should be an exciting race.

Give Me High Five is currently at 9/4 (from 5/2) with Special Meaning at 13/8 (from 7/4) and Easy Life at 6/1 (from 9/2) so the odds are in Special Meaning’s favour. She has won nine times previously and is half-sister to Major Rhythm, so she could be worth a look here.
